Kenna POSB Debit Card Fraud & Lousy Police

On 7th April 2014, I happily went to a POSB branch and change my ATM card to a debit card thinking of how I will now be able to shop online without having to trouble my bestfriend to purchase them for me.

On 10th April, after working, I receive a text saying " The 1st  txn on your DBS card... was SGD260.10, TIGERAIR SINGAPORE on 10 APR 15:01 SG time, if you did not use the card please call .... "

I immediately called dbs and explained to the lady on the phone that I did not make that transaction and had my card blocked. Was told that at that point, the merchant ( TIGERAIR SINGAPORE) have not accepted the payment [Money is in this alternate universe between Tigerair and my bank acc] and there's nothing they can do.

I have to:
1) Wait 10 days, if Tigerair did not accept my money by then, it will automatically be back to my account.
2) Wait till Tigerair accept my payment, go down and file a letter of dispute.

That night I went to file a police report, now THIS is the thing that pisses me off. I explain the situation to the police and also told him that the transaction is not through yet, he look at me and say, " So why are you making this report?"HELLO? Just because technically the money is still with me means that the person using my debit card is not doing something illegal is it? But I calmly told him that this person might still use mine and other peoples' debit card to cheat money.

So anyways, this other officer attended to me, she took down all the details, everything. At the end I ask her, "So you are going to investigate this case?"
"No."
"Huh? Why?"
"Because the payment is not through yet. You need to check with the bank first, it might be a mistake, someone might just accidentally type in the wrong number which happen to be your account." 
W.O.W! This fraudster managed to type in my EXACT debit card number AND my name, and it might be a "mistake". So what? If the fraudster didnt manage to successfully steal my money, he/she did not break the law? If I try to murder someone and the person didn't die, am I not guilty for murder!? WTF. I also provided them with the DBS transaction code for this purchase. What happen to JUSTICE? And com'on, the purchase is for TIGERAIR, what do you need to key in when you purchase airtickets? PERSONAL PARTICULARS! Futhermore, this is the ONLY online transaction made thus far since I only had the card for 4 days. The person can easily be caught (in my personal opinion).

I actually called Tigerair myself to ask for details, but the woman just kept repeating, "we cannot do it ma'am , sorry, we cannot do it ma'am. " Dont know if she meant if the details cannot be disclosed or that she has no ability to do that.

Anyways, I went down to POSB bank the next day [11Apr] and filled the form of dispute, but the person made me state that I understand the transaction is not complete. Now I just have to wait and see.

!!! To the Fraudster: I hope you're all packed and about to leave for your only holiday ( assuming you are poor as fck because you have no money to pay for your own trip) and police knock on your door and transport you to jail, would be one holiday you'll never forget. 

[12Apr] Payment is through. Damn, hope they process my form and let me get back my money soon. Now I just have to wait. Worrying if they didnt process my form :/


Update: I googled POSB frauds and apparently there's a lot of similar cases. I emailed all the emails I could find on those blogs. I emailed the email provided on ibanking. I posted on the facebook page of POSB. The last one worked. This guy named John replied me on facebook and attended to me. He called and told me that he would request for my "credits" aka money, to be returned back to my account as soon as possible ( because I told him I need the money urgently). If I remember correctly, the money was back into my account within a week. With regards to the investigation itself, I have no idea what is going on and I was not given any updates. So god knows if this fraud case is settled, or they are still investigating. But nevertheless, I got my money back.

Sunday we went to this japanese buffet.

As of yesterday, I weighed 47.7kg, might be heavier today. :X
And me eating fried noodles this morning with fried chicken wings might not help either. Okay Okay, I'll start again! Controlling my diet!!

On the happier note! I found a job ! Pay was $300 better than what I wanted. YAY !
Tmr had a part time job that mummy forced me to go cause her workplace needed help. pshhh..
It's okay more money for me!

I DONT UNDERSTAND MY FEAR!

Deathly deathly deathly afraid of dead things. Necrophobia. Weird, I know. Cockroach flying around, I'm okay with it. Cockroach dead? EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!

I dont understand why too. Maybe I'm scared it will turn into zombie cockroaches and bite me, and I'll turn into a cockroach human zombie or something. But I'm okay with seeing Zombie, they dont seem that "dead" for be to be disgusted. But then again, I'm okay with dealing with dead lab rats. OR !! Im subconsciously worried about germs? hmm.. But just seeing dead birds/lizards/animals on the road makes my legs have goosebumps. I dont know. Eww.
